Fact Checking the Third and Final Presidential Debate

Note: This is (mostly) satire.

The last presidential debate between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump was broadcast live via Fox News Wednesday, Oct. 19. The program gave the candidates one last chance to prove their differences to the nation – not that the nation really needed it.

Clinton appeared still in shock to have to debate Trump, though the election season is nearing an end.

Trump seemed more upset than he has been in the past, something many didn’t think was possible.

With emotions running high, it can be tough to determine who’s right and who’s wrong. Below is a fact check of some of the most prominent statements made by each of the candidates Wednesday night.

DONALD TRUMP

On Immigration: “[I will get rid of] all of the drug lords, all of the bad ones.”

False as it’s impossible to differentiate between the bad drug lords and the good ones.

On Health Care: “Obamacare kicks in in 2016, really bigly.”

The Affordable Care Act is on trail to expand coverage, but the real issue here is the language Trump uses. To clear up any dispute, Dictionary.com claims bigly is a word. Using it, however, does make you sound like a second grader and will definitely be used in half of all headlines regarding the debate.

On Sexual Assault: “These women, I think they want either fame, or her campaign.”

False. “These women” likely don’t want a sexual predator running for president and would prefer the legal system take care of the issue.

“I didn’t even apologize to my wife.”

Definitely and unsurprisingly true.

“Nobody has more respect for women than I do.”

False, but it’s likely Trump was simply flustered and meant to say “less.”

On Women: ”Such a nasty woman.”

False, in any context. It was likely aimed at his opponent, Hillary Clinton, but remains applicable to countless other women Trump has directly offended in some way. Either way, he’s wrong.

On Peaceful Transfer of Power: “I will look at it [the election results] at the time. I’m not looking at anything now. I’m looking at it at the time. … What I’m saying is that I’ll tell you at the time, I’ll keep you in suspense.”

Trump is likely looking at the time because he thinks there’s over a month until Election Day, which he has told fans is November 28. It’s going to be a suspenseful extra 20 days – and by suspenseful I mean violent and dreadful.

HILLARY CLINTON

On Slaying Donald Trump: “On the day when I was in the (White House) Situation Room monitoring the raid that brought Osama bin Laden to justice, he was hosting ‘The Celebrity Apprentice.'”

True.

On a “Rigged” Election: “And it’s funny, but it’s also really troubling.”

Half-true; while Donald Trump as a presidential candidate is troubling, it lost all humor after the second week of his campaign.

On Non-Profit Spending: “I’d be happy to compare what (the Clinton Foundation does) with the Trump Foundation, which took money from other people bought and bought a 6-foot portrait of Donald. I mean, who does that? It just was astonishing.”

Extremely accurate. The 6-foot portrait of Donald is nothing compared to the 305-foot statue of Hillary. liberty

On Donald Trump’s Insecure Masculinity: “Donald thinks belittling women makes him bigger. He goes after their dignity, their self-worth — and I don’t think there is a woman anywhere who doesn’t know what that feels like.”

Mostly true, but Clinton overlooked that Trump also goes after their pussies.
